Millions of children around the world lack access to basic necessities, such as food, clean water, sanitation, medicine, shelter, education, books, fun, family, laughter, love – but there is always hope. Education is one of the best predictors of success in children. We can help poor children have a better future in a number of ways. Volunteering our time and efforts to children can make a very big impact.
Made and Ketut believe that people are willing to make a commitment, they can become a personal advocate for a child in need through mentoring and fostering. No effort is too small or too large to make. Cognizant to this fact, both husband and wife have been supporting the so called as “Sunday School” – a program designed voluntarily to help these children in need to get extras education from all aspects for free. The school has been established since 2016 to accommodate about 100 children in the neighborhood area so that these children get the chance to learn more once a week on Sunday despite their unfortunate circumstances. Made and Ketut have also invited lots of guest speakers to Sunday School ranging from English teacher, Yoga Instructor, even a group of psychologists to give moral support and character education for the children. So far the results are pretty amazing.
Most of the guests of Bali Jungle Camping have also participated to join the class as they want to contribute a significant impact to their surrounding especially to these very special children.
